This brisk setting of Psalm 8:1, 3-9 is like a melodic ribbon, metered and cadenced to peak at the text’s most powerful moments. The psalm contemplates the wonders of the heavens and of our human nature. The texture is, for the most part, homophonic, with occasional brief solo phrases in each part.
