Elliot Z. Levine has been awarded five Meet-the-Composer grants. His most recent large commission, The Cantata of the Animals, has been performed by the Westminster Choir College Choir, the Yale University Choir and by the Studio Arsis Chorus of Tokyo. He has been composer-in-residence at New York City’s Church of St. Thomas More and for the schools of Delmar, New York. Mr. Levine has been the baritone for the Western Wind Vocal Ensemble since its inception in 1969. He conducts and coaches in Western Wind workshops at ACDA choral conferences throughout America and at such schools as Dartmouth College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts. As a soloist he has appeared with Musica Sacra, the Rome Opera, La Fenice, the Ensemble for Early Music, and the Folger Consort. |
